Well hello beautiful people!!
Its been a while since I wrote.. things have been cruising along- with a few bumpy patches. Yes that is life, and sometimes those bumpy patches are VERY hard. Its these bumpy patches that teach us so much, and reveal to us who is in control our lives. I have been blown away by how God has been revealing himself to me through this challenging situations.
I am currently in Auckland. Its been an awesome few days here. I went to Teen Aglow meeting in Pakuranga on Tuesday night. WOW - what a phenominal group of young woman. It kinda made me want to move back to Auckland.. hehe
There were some powerful testimonies of how God has answered prayer and how God had spoken to the girls about different things that he had for them in their lives. It was really encouraging to see confidence and boldness arising, and fear being cast out. As Christ followers we need to NOT throw away our confidence. The gospel would never get preached if we were not bold. God has chosen us to be his representatives on earth so we really need to get rid of the fear that is holding us back. Maybe taking some time to sit and SOAK in GODS LOVE is the thing this generation has not been doing. We are all soooo busy DOING STUFF, that we often forget that we need to spend time in the word of God, in prayer, worshipping God in a quiet place... and in these times fear will get cast out - cause REMEMBER - perfect love casts out ALL FEAR. Perfect love can only come from GOD.
My hope and prayer for this generation is that we would learn to find the greatest love of all - JESUS.... let him romance us, be our first love... and out of this love relationship that we have that we can fulfill the great commission- and fulfill the purpose for which GOD CHOSE TO MAKE US....

OK... so thats a bit of what I've been thinking of lately... and where I'm at personally...
Next week I head down to Wellington for the Aglow quarterly board meeting. This will be great to connect with our Advisors and have time to reflect on the year ending, and the new one approaching...
My saying for 2009 is ... 2009 - love divine...  Lets believe that as we head out of 08 into 09 that we experience this LOVE DIVINE from CHRIST ALONE....

Keep in touch... and keep your eyes open for events near year that will kick off in 09

love... katie

It was exciting to see how God is using the simple things we have.. and a whole lot of FAITH,, boldness and courage to reach this generation and bring hope to many people. I am praying about how this ministry can be part of the generations project... i know that already it has inspired me greatly... hopefully you to.
My encouragement to you today is to USE WHATS IN YOUR HAND, and in you HEART. Combine it with FAITH... choose to step out and JUST DO IT. The Lord will be faithful to provide as you follow him. You will be amazed at what HE DOES!!

girls from auckland....

Hey there..
Just had a great quick trip to Auckland Aglow Training day. I got to hang out with some awesome young woman... ( i hope you read this...)  heres a few pics from the day.. oh there was an awesome young man helping with the worship - so that was a blessing to.  The Generations project is about us all working together to see Gods kingdom be manifest on earth... girls and guys working together to see the harvest come in.

Just a word about the word....  the word of God is soooooo important for us to grow in our relationship with God. As we need to food to sustain out physical body so we need the word of God living in us to grow our spiritual body. If we are lacking in the word of God we will not be growing. I encourage you all to take time each day to meditate, think about , get into your head and heart Gods word.  I will be writing more about this soon.. so stay tuned.

SPRING IS HERE.....

Hi there..
Well another season has finished and we have now entered SRING. This is such a beautiful season with so many new things appearing around us. Last week I was traveling in the South Island with Aglow and I have to say that I saw more sheep and lambs than I did people. It was so cool to drive through the country side and see lots of baby lambs, and see blossoming trees.  As we traveled I was sensing that God really was springing up new things. In the spiritual and physical realm. I have been thinking about the birth process in the natural , and the struggle woman go through during their pregnancy.( i don't first hand what this is like...!!) I am guessing that at times during the pregnancy it can be very challenging, tiring, painful, exhausting, emotional, and possibly it can feel like you just want to give up - you want the baby to come sooner than its meant to.  I know that with the new work we are doing in Aglow at the generations project i have felt all these things, and also personally in my life. I  have seen the faithfulness of our loving Father God over the past seasons/years of my life to know that it is definitely worth waiting for this perfect timing, for the new thing to be birthed.

I read a journal entry of mine from 2 years ago and it said "sufffering to bring forth life". As much as I do not like the word suffering i am realising that it is what we have to go through to see the new life. Our ultimate example of the suffering that brings life is what Jesus went through for us. As followers of Jesus we are meant to follow in his footsteps. So girls, as you go through this season of spring, as you face all the different things that come with this I pray you will have grace and strength to keep waiting patiently for the new things God has for you.

Do not give up, do not grow weary in doing good, keep running the race with endurance, keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and follow HIS example. Feel free to leave a comment, a prayer request or a thought to encourage.

its a new season

8.8.08
Today is the 8th of August. Often when I think about the number eight I am reminded that it signifies new beginnings. Over the last week or so I have been made aware  of some new things!! One of my great friends had her first child on the 1st of August. Wow... the miracle of a new life, made by God, truly for such a time as this. Its amazing to think about the whole concept of birth, new life, and how God creates it, but how he lets us be a part of his magnificent and mind blowing work.

I was reading Psalm 8 this morning... " O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is your name in all the earth.  Who have set your glory above the heavens. Out of the mouths of children and infants you have ordained strength because of your enemies, that you might still the enemy and the avenger. When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the starts which you have ordained; what is man that you are mindful of him? and the son of man , that you visit him...... O Lord, our Lord how excellent is your name in al the earth.

I pray that today you will sense the newness of God, that you would allow him to birth something fresh inside of you. Maybe it will be a fresh desire to know God more, or a new vision and purpose for your life. It may just be something very small... but today have your eyes, ears, spirit, mind and heart open to the new thing God wants to do in you and in front of you.

Today I am heading to Queenstown for 10 days to be involved with the Christian Camping Conference. I am looking forward to being in one place for a decent amount of time. Over the last two months I have not been in one place more than 8 days.... God has sustained me amazingly, but i have to say i'm ready to rest for a bit..

Be blessed today..... keep seeking your heavenly father who loves you lots...

Back in NZ

Hey precious ones..
Its been a month since I last wrote on here.. time definitely goes fast. In the last month I have been to Singapore, India, Perth - Australia, and am now in Wellington. Its been an awesome month of traveling and meeting amazing people from many nations and walks of life.

Today I am in the National Aglow office and have started to formulate vision and goals for the generations project. It is going to be very exciting to see how everything unfolds. We are definitely on the look out for young woman who want to be involved in the generations project. If you are wondering what Gods call on your life is and are wanting to to do something of significance in your life time then being part of the generations team could just be for you.

There are 3 major areas we are looking at as our focus, one - shine programmes in schools, generations groups based on your interests and giftings- discipleship/mentoring and involvement in the current aglow fellowships around NZ.  We are in the process of forming a Trust for all our generations project activities. We want to also have generations gatherings around the nation to encourage the young people of our nation to live 100% for Jesus, and fuflill the calling on their lives.

It is exciting days that we are living in, its also a time to truly keep our eyes fixed on Jesus. He will be returning to earth and we need to make sure that we are ready for his return.

Last week I got to Meet Evangeline Weiner while at the Australian Aglow Convention. Evangeline in the generations project co-ordinator for Aglow International. She is an amazing young woman who is a huge inspiration to this world. She has written a book as well, and hopefully we will have access to it here soon.  It's awesome to hear stories of what is happening around the world with many young woman . I will post a photo of Evangeline, Myself and Hannah on this site. Hannah is from OZ and is involved with the Generations project as well.

Will write again soon.. Until then keep loving God, and letting him reveal to you his great Love that he has for you.

YOU ARE PRECIOUS...

Hello Precious People..
Just writing this blog from the amazing nation Singapore. I have been here for a week taking part in a forum with World Outreach, discussing how we can mobilize young people into missions. Its been an awesome week. One very cool thing thats happened is that I met an amazing woman from Oz, who works in Vietnam. She is running the Shine programme there. Shine is a program that I have been involved in running in NZ - mentoring and helping with Life skills with teenage girls. We got to share with a group of girls from here in Singapore who have been wanting to set this program up here... wow.... its totally been divine appointments by God. We so could never have arranged this.  I was sharing with a friend from NZ today ( on skype) about how its been one of the highlights of my trip so far as it really showed me how interested God is in his precious girls.. and how right across the earth he is bringing it to the light.   So as you read this i hope you know that God is VERY interested in every single aspect of your life, that he cares about the little things, and that as you choose to follow him and take risks for him here on Earth he will surprise you with showing you how BIG he is, and in control of your life he is. I am blown away that the Lord has opened doors for me to be here, and to next week go to India. It was 10 years ago that I felt God call me and speak to me about being in ministry and traveling around the world with and for Him.... its happening now - but it has taken time...
What ever season you are keep loving the Lord, hearing his voice, risking, and TRUSTING that he is faithful to lead you and make your paths straight.
Will write more when I get to India... be blessed today...

Jesus gives LIFE

Hello girls... I just thought it was time for a wee update. This last week has been a challenging one! I found myself along with my flatmates at the scene of a fatal accident on sunday night. There has been alot of different thoughts going through my head, and feelings in my heart since this happened. I know that God is true to his word when he says that he works all things together for the good of those who Love him and are called according to his purpose. As we were driving before we saw the accident the verse that we had been discussing was "God is the one who gives life to to the dead and calls things that are not as though they are" Romans 4:17 , a minute later we are at the scene of a crash where someone had died. This was not what I was expecting.
Last night I was reminded about this verse. I was around alot of youth from our city- at a youth church. As  I was sitting in the church the verse went through my head again... and I sensed from God that he was so desperately wanting to bring LIFE from the deaths that have occured. My heart was sooo breaking last night as I saw many young people weeping, mourning for there friend who lost her life in this tragedy. My heart was breaking because I know how desperately this generation needs life in there spirit. My prayer for this nation, this generation is that where we have seen death occur, that God by the power of His Holy Spirit would flood in with LIFE, and that many would turn to Jesus because of this.
Girls know that today God wants to come into the midst of your situation and breathe life, He is powerful, strong and mighty. All things are possible for Him. Today open you heart to Him, call on His name, He will do what his word says, and HE WILL ANSWER YOU.
If you want to write a response to this but are not signed up as a blogger.. feel free to email me on: katie_davies@hotmail.com

Keep loving the Lord, and trusting in HIM... and radiating Jesus to this world!

Know the word ... fear the LORD

Hello precious girls... and guys - if you are reading this page,
Just wanted to write a bit of an encouraging word to you all today. I was enjoying some time with the Lord this morning - sitting on the balcony, with my bible, note book and coffee. I was reading in Deuteronomy and was drawn to a passage about Joshua and Moses. Chapter 31 Veres 9 - 13 are about the public reading of the Law. This stuck out to me because it was talking about Children and young people knowing the the law and learning how to fear the Lord. I think often we forget how powerful, and how important the word of God is. If we do not know the word of God, we will then be lacking in the fear of the Lord. Psalm 111:10 says "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise".

I want to encourage you today to make time to spend with God in HIS word. This is where you will gain wisdom, and this is where you will learn how to Fear the Lord - not be scared of him , but have a reverence and awe of God. The word of God is powerful, it is a weapon for us to use in defeating the enemy, it is a source of encouragement to our hearts, it gives us promises that we can hold on to in good and bad times.

Today may you experience the fear of the LORD... and in doing so you will gain wisdom and understanding.

Blessings,
katie
