In august I took some time out to be still.. seek God.. and well it ended up being a month of something new forming. This new thing is a relationship - and YES its a man... and he is now my Fiance. WOW.I knew God was up to something when i felt led to have some time out.. just didnt quite know what was going to happen. I was definitely plesantly surprised. So the month of August was one of prayer.. talking... getting to know each other again in a deeper way.. and by the end of August my lovely man had said he wanted to Marry me. On the 4th of September Ryan officially proposed to me - even though we had already set a date for the wedding. We have both been blown away by how God has been working this romance out...more to come soon - about the whole story!! Our wedding will be in about 8 weeks time...with family.. then next year we will have a party to celebrate with friends!! The one thing I have come to experience in the last few months is the truth of the words of God that say LOVE IS THE GREATEST.
It is Gods intention that we would love Him.. and love each other. I think there is a special blessing on the Love between male and female when they realise they were made for each other...!! Im so glad that God chose to awaken love between us now.. it hasn't been premature - its come at just the right time! Gods ways and timing are perfect - and truly are better than ours. If i personally had my way i would have been married afew years back - thankfully Gods will and purpose stood firm - i see know the fight that he put up to keep me for this.

The next 8 weeks will be fun, busy, interesting and full of lots of things ive never done before!! - like prepare for our wedding. I was chatting with the lovely Joy and Judy from the Aglow Board today and we were talking about how this natural wedding is a picture of something happening to us spiritually... the bride making herself ready for the bridegroom - the church getting ready for Jesus to come back- which is us his church. My prayer is that I would be ready for both weddings... to my earthly husband... and to JESUS. I hope that you are ready for his return, and in the mean time know the love of the Father and the Love of others in a deep, real and satisfying way.

Will write again soon

katie

rainbows- promises

O... its been a month of seeing rainbows as well.. and being reminded of the promises of GOD.

I have truly been blown away at Gods perfect timing in bringing the rainbows out- just when ive needed some encouragement.. The Last month or so has been a mixture of both. With the Swine flu and other flues spreading around NZ many people have come down with sickness that has taken them out. I thought that I would be fine, but unfortunately this was not the case. I ended up missing out on an Aglow Retreat as I was unwell, and had to return to my parents place to get better. I was in bed for 10 days. I had been feeling like it was time to have a little break, so getting the flu was a forced rest. I enjoyed having time to listen to new songs - check out kari jobe if you dont already know her, and also Jesus Culture.

This last week I was so blessed to be a part of 'Godspace'- which was a Kids Conference- wow it was absolutely awesome. To see kids encountering God, being strengthened in their faith, and given opportunity to develop their spiritual gifts, and be inspired/encouraged and equipped to follow Christ was truly the best thing ever. I had the opportunity to share some "Girls stuff"- it was a very precious time, and we could have gone on for hours.

Its funny how you can go to something to serve and give, but you end up receiving- I personally felt hugely inspired and encouraged and challenged to being stepping out more, to be more bold in my prayer life, and to continue to TRUST God. I feel like I have so many uncertainties in my life, and I just want them fixed and sorted out. I was blown away by the prayer I received and it showed me once again how well God does know us. .. the words "do not worry, let go, stop trying to figure it out, flow with the Holy Spirit" - thats where I have to get back to.

I was ready to leave Wellington on Tuesday. One of the friends I stayed with got rushed to hospital on Tuesday morning, so I ended up heading to the hospital to support them - it actually ended up being a phenominal day of opportunities to share the gospel, and testify to Gods miraculous power... YES GOD IS AMAZING, he does work all things together for good, and he does make messy and hard situations beautiful in His time.

This weekend we are having a day to train our Shine girl facilitators. I am believing that this

will be a really significant and equipping day. I feel right now that the needs of young woman in our nation are being highlighted as important. Its encouraging to see many people putting there hand up to say "I want to help make a difference in this generation".

Another challenge that Ive had lately is to be studying the word of God. Again while I was sick someone asked me a question about Abigail.. well to be honest i didnt know anything much about her- so my task currently is to study her life and how it relates to young woman today.

I have not finished that, and writing this reminds me that its something I will do this afternoon.

I pray that you are well, that you are knowing the Hope of Christ, being comforted by the Holy Spirit, and being strengthened in Gods word as you seek to see the next generation walk in their purpose - as Sons and Daughters of Father God.

blessings.. keep smiling and shinning your light.

katie

ON THE ROAD

Well greetings everyone, its been a while since I have written on this blog. Life has been pretty busy over the last few months. I went to Sydney in march, attended the Shine training day and also the Children in Prayer Consultation for Australia. It was an AWESOME time away. We caught up with friends who we met in India last year which was an added bonus.
Currently I am having a day off.. in Christchurch. I have been on the road for the last 3 weeks, and have another week to go on this part of the journey. I left Tauranga on the 17th April with my awesome friend Dayna. We made our way to Wellington.
I spent afew days doing work in the office - funding applications for shine and doing admin etc. On the 22nd April I flew to Christchurch for the night, then got up earlyish and flew to Queenstown on the 24th. The lower South Island Aglow Retreat was held over the weekend, it was an awesome time. My parents came to do the cooking which was really great. Its always a blessing to be able to spend time with family, and serve God together. The speaker at the Retreat was Gloria Donovan, she was just great. She encouraged us to press into God for the promises he has given us, and not give up in the seasons of hardship and trial. It was a timely message.

After the retreat we spent afew days enjoying the amazing creation of Queenstown.. and also meeting up with some amazing locals. Jacqui - who is travelling with me, ( gospel singer from USA)... and I got to spend time with the kids from the Christian School. We had heaps of left over food from the camp so gave that to the school as well - it again was a timely gift as some families were in need of food. GODS TIMING IS PERFECT... and HIS PROVISION AMAZING.

On Thursday the 30th Jacqui and I flew to Christchurch. We have been meeting amazing people, and have had the opportunity to lead worship, speak, and reach out to the community. Yesterday we were at a cafe outreach in Aranui, it was awesome to meet people from the area, and see them receive practical, emotional and spiritual help. I really feel like God is doing some awesome networking at the moment.. which is awesome, He is opening doors, and bringing the Kingdom of God together. I was reading some scriptures this morning about helping the poor, and was reminded again that this is very much part of what we are called by God to do. I am praying that more radical lovers of God would be raised up to do what Isaiah 61 says- " Preach Good news to the poor, bind up the broken hearted, proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lords favor, and the day of vengeance of our God.... you can read more in your bibles... its awesome.

There are more Shine groups starting up which is so cool, one in Taupo, and two in Tauranga, God is really placing on peoples hearts the importance of reaching this generation, and not expecting them to come to our meetings, but going to them. Shine groups are definitely an awesome way to bring life, encouragement, purpose, value and hope to the young woman of this nation.

I hope that you are encouraged from reading this, and that you are spurred on today to be a light for Christ, and a witness to the world that Jesus is ALIVE.

Blessings, and love... keeping Shinning for JESUS

katie

SHINE GIRLS SHINE

hello precious people...
It is definitely time for an update... The last few months have been busy... and I have been a little slack with my blogging. SOOOOO..... here goes..

I personally have had the blessing of attending some conferences. The first was Compass Conference. This was run up at Snells Beach. There were about 120 young adults from around NZ who came together and got taught about world view, faith and culture. It was definitely a thought provoking time, encouraging and challenging. I enjoyed hearing about the history of God movements, and thinking about what God is doing today, specifically in NZ.

After this week I headed back to Wellington for two weeks. We held the Aglow leaders summit and this was a great time of encouragement. My Mum came to this which was COOL.

In February I was again hugely blessed to be at Father Heart Ministries school for a week in Taupo. My Dad was on the school to - so that was really special. During this week I learnt alot about how God loves us as Father, and how the relationship we have with our parents effects how we view God as Father. By the end of the week I felt SOOOO different and SOOOOO free. I had some personal breakthroughs .. which I know I really needed.

The last few weeks have been busy with Aglow work. I have been down to Wellington for meetings, and then have spoken at Mount and TeAwamutu Aglow. We have started up Shine at Tauranga Intermediate, and have other towns that want to start shine. I am helping facilitate this.

Just this week I was at a camp run by the Police Youth department. We went away with 10 teenage girls. .. wow.. we had an awesome time. The girls got really treated, and It was very cool to see how they changed over the week. I'm looking forward to keeping in touch with them

One of the things that Ive been concerned about lately is the Immunisation that the government is funding - for teenage girls - against cervical cancer. I guess I am concerned that this movement is in a way encouraging sexual promiscuity amongst our young woman. I believe that its time to bring a message to the young of woman of NZ that they have the power to Choose, and to say no, and what the benefits of this is. Many young woman feel so empty, so desperate for love, so lonely, that they are willing to take whatever comes there way. This saddens me, and I know it saddens God. I know its not the way we were designed to live.

I am in the process of praying, and planning and putting my thoughts into action in regards to bringing a message and support to NZ young Woman. If you want to be involved... let me know!!

I think thats all for now... ill write again soon.... be encouraged today that you are loved by God, and that his love is enough for you.

2009 - HOPE... and JOY

HAPPY NEW YEAR
It's 2009. Wow last year went so fast. Its amazing to look back the year and take time to remember what God has done in our lives. I had a very full year in 08. I travelled more than I ever have in my life. I took more plane flights that i expected I would, and I'm thankful for that. Other wise I would have been doing ALOT of driving. 2008 for me was also a year of seeing some of my DREAMS start to be SET in motion. I'm hoping that 2009 I will continue to be bold in seeing these fulfilled. I hope that if you haven't already got a dream that maybe this year would be the year taht you get one... for GOD can do MORE than we could ASK - DREAM or IMAGINE.

I hope that you have had some time to stop and reflect on your year in 08, and have had time to set some goals for 09. I have been enjoying some time time to rest. Its been nice to be at home with my parents and not do much.

I was praying yesterday and I felt got speak to me from the book of Hosea Chatper 2. I have read this chapter a number of times... the bit that I felt stuck out to me yesterday was the part where its says "I will make the valley of Achor a door of hope". I didn't know what this meant so I hit the internet up.. (yay for online bibles). It said that achor means 'trouble'. It actually really encouraged me. It was as if God was specifically saying to me that the troubles I've been facing, and maybe you to.. that he was going to use them to open up a door of HOPE. I don't know about you but I've been facing a number of challenges, and this word really did bring life to me, and encouragement that there was HOPE coming from the trouble.

I'm reminded in the book of James where it says "Consider it pure joy when you face trials of many kinds, because the testing of your faith develops perseverance and perseverance must finish its work in us so that we may become mature and complete- not lacking anything".

Thats a pretty straight up word from God, and I guess its one I need to remember right now - and maybe you do to.

As you continue into 2009 I hope and pray that you will have HOPE... and be encouraged daily as you choose to consider all the things you face with JOY..

If you are facing troubles, take God at His word and believe that God will open up a door of HOPE for you to walk through.

Many blessings

katie

<img style="float:left; Yes that is life, and sometimes those bumpy patches are VERY hard. Its these bumpy patches that teach us so much, and reveal to us who is in control our lives. I have been blown away by how God has been revealing himself to me through this challenging situations.

I am currently in Auckland. Its been an awesome few days here. I went to Teen Aglow meeting in Pakuranga on Tuesday night. WOW - what a phenominal group of young woman. It kinda made me want to move back to Auckland.. hehe

There were some powerful testimonies of how God has answered prayer and how God had spoken to the girls about different things that he had for them in their lives. It was really encouraging to see confidence and boldness arising, and fear being cast out. As Christ followers we need to NOT throw away our confidence. The gospel would never get preached if we were not bold. God has chosen us to be his representatives on earth so we really need to get rid of the fear that is holding us back. Maybe taking some time to sit and SOAK in GODS LOVE is the thing this generation has not been doing. We are all soooo busy DOING STUFF, that we often forget that we need to spend time in the word of God, in prayer, worshipping God in a quiet place... and in these times fear will get cast out - cause REMEMBER - perfect love casts out ALL FEAR. Perfect love can only come from GOD.

My hope and prayer for this generation is that we would learn to find the greatest love of all - JESUS.... let him romance us, be our first love... and out of this love relationship that we have that we can fulfill the great commission- and fulfill the purpose for which GOD CHOSE TO MAKE US....

OK... so thats a bit of what I've been thinking of lately... and where I'm at personally...

Next week I head down to Wellington for the Aglow quarterly board meeting. This will be great to connect with our Advisors and have time to reflect on the year ending, and the new one approaching...

My saying for 2009 is ... 2009 - love divine... Lets believe that as we head out of 08 into 09 that we experience this LOVE DIVINE from CHRIST ALONE....

Keep in touch... and keep your eyes open for events near year that will kick off in 09

love... katie

Christchurch - city of Action

Hey.. Have just returned from an awesome time in Christchurch. We had a generations retreat. It was an awesome time of encouragement, fun, ministry, and refreshment. There were about 40 woman. After the camp I got to meet up an awesome woman who works in Aranui, Christchurch. She has an amazing ministry run out of her home to the people in her neighbourhood. WOW... she feeds them, clothes them, furnishes homes, ministers value, hope and the truth of Jesus. This was a highlight of my time in Christchurch. It was exciting to see how God is using the simple things we have.. and a whole lot of FAITH,, boldness and courage to reach this generation and bring hope to many people. I am praying about how this ministry can be part of the generations project... i know that already it has inspired me greatly... hopefully you to.
My encouragement to you today is to USE WHATS IN YOUR HAND, and in you HEART. Combine it with FAITH... choose to step out and JUST DO IT. The Lord will be faithful to provide as you follow him. You will be amazed at what HE DOES!!

blessings.. and i'll write again soon

girls from auckland....

Hey there..
Just had a great quick trip to Auckland Aglow Training day. I got to hang out with some awesome young woman... ( i hope you read this...) heres a few pics from the day.. oh there was an awesome young man helping with the worship - so that was a blessing to. The Generations project is about us all working together to see Gods kingdom be manifest on earth... girls and guys working together to see the harvest come in.

Just a word about the word.... the word of God is soooooo important for us to grow in our relationship with God. As we need to food to sustain out physical body so we need the word of God living in us to grow our spiritual body. If we are lacking in the word of God we will not be growing. I encourage you all to take time each day to meditate, think about , get into your head and heart Gods word. I will be writing more about this soon.. so stay tuned.

katie...

SPRING IS HERE.....

Hi there..
Well another season has finished and we have now entered SRING. This is such a beautiful season with so many new things appearing around us. Last week I was traveling in the South Island with Aglow and I have to say that I saw more sheep and lambs than I did people. It was so cool to drive through the country side and see lots of baby lambs, and see blossoming trees. As we traveled I was sensing that God really was springing up new things. In the spiritual and physical realm. I have been thinking about the birth process in the natural , and the struggle woman go through during their pregnancy.( i don't first hand what this is like...!!) I am guessing that at times during the pregnancy it can be very challenging, tiring, painful, exhausting, emotional, and possibly it can feel like you just want to give up - you want the baby to come sooner than its meant to. I know that with the new work we are doing in Aglow at the generations project i have felt all these things, and also personally in my life. I have seen the faithfulness of our loving Father God over the past seasons/years of my life to know that it is definitely worth waiting for this perfect timing, for the new thing to be birthed.

I read a journal entry of mine from 2 years ago and it said "sufffering to bring forth life". As much as I do not like the word suffering i am realising that it is what we have to go through to see the new life. Our ultimate example of the suffering that brings life is what Jesus went through for us. As followers of Jesus we are meant to follow in his footsteps. So girls, as you go through this season of spring, as you face all the different things that come with this I pray you will have grace and strength to keep waiting patiently for the new things God has for you.

Do not give up, do not grow weary in doing good, keep running the race with endurance, keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and follow HIS example. Feel free to leave a comment, a prayer request or a thought to encourage.

its a new season

8.8.08
Today is the 8th of August. Often when I think about the number eight I am reminded that it signifies new beginnings. Over the last week or so I have been made aware of some new things!! One of my great friends had her first child on the 1st of August. Wow... the miracle of a new life, made by God, truly for such a time as this. Its amazing to think about the whole concept of birth, new life, and how God creates it, but how he lets us be a part of his magnificent and mind blowing work.

I was reading Psalm 8 this morning... " O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is your name in all the earth. Who have set your glory above the heavens. Out of the mouths of children and infants you have ordained strength because of your enemies, that you might still the enemy and the avenger. When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the starts which you have ordained; what is man that you are mindful of him? and the son of man , that you visit him...... O Lord, our Lord how excellent is your name in al the earth.

I pray that today you will sense the newness of God, that you would allow him to birth something fresh inside of you. Maybe it will be a fresh desire to know God more, or a new vision and purpose for your life. It may just be something very small... but today have your eyes, ears, spirit, mind and heart open to the new thing God wants to do in you and in front of you.

Today I am heading to Queenstown for 10 days to be involved with the Christian Camping Conference. I am looking forward to being in one place for a decent amount of time. Over the last two months I have not been in one place more than 8 days.... God has sustained me amazingly, but i have to say i'm ready to rest for a bit..

Be blessed today..... keep seeking your heavenly father who loves you lots...

katie

Back in NZ

Hey precious ones..
Its been a month since I last wrote on here.. time definitely goes fast. In the last month I have been to Singapore, India, Perth - Australia, and am now in Wellington. Its been an awesome month of traveling and meeting amazing people from many nations and walks of life.

Today I am in the National Aglow office and have started to formulate vision and goals for the generations project. It is going to be very exciting to see how everything unfolds. We are definitely on the look out for young woman who want to be involved in the generations project. If you are wondering what Gods call on your life is and are wanting to to do something of significance in your life time then being part of the generations team could just be for you.

There are 3 major areas we are looking at as our focus, one - shine programmes in schools, generations groups based on your interests and giftings- discipleship/mentoring and involvement in the current aglow fellowships around NZ. We are in the process of forming a Trust for all our generations project activities. We want to also have generations gatherings around the nation to encourage the young people of our nation to live 100% for Jesus, and fuflill the calling on their lives.

It is exciting days that we are living in, its also a time to truly keep our eyes fixed on Jesus. He will be returning to earth and we need to make sure that we are ready for his return.

Last week I got to Meet Evangeline Weiner while at the Australian Aglow Convention. Evangeline in the generations project co-ordinator for Aglow International. She is an amazing young woman who is a huge inspiration to this world. She has written a book as well, and hopefully we will have access to it here soon. It's awesome to hear stories of what is happening around the world with many young woman . I will post a photo of Evangeline, Myself and Hannah on this site. Hannah is from OZ and is involved with the Generations project as well.

Will write again soon.. Until then keep loving God, and letting him reveal to you his great Love that he has for you.

katie

YOU ARE PRECIOUS...

Hello Precious People..
Just writing this blog from the amazing nation Singapore. I have been here for a week taking part in a forum with World Outreach, discussing how we can mobilize young people into missions. Its been an awesome week. One very cool thing thats happened is that I met an amazing woman from Oz, who works in Vietnam. She is running the Shine programme there. Shine is a program that I have been involved in running in NZ - mentoring and helping with Life skills with teenage girls. We got to share with a group of girls from here in Singapore who have been wanting to set this program up here... wow.... its totally been divine appointments by God. We so could never have arranged this. I was sharing with a friend from NZ today ( on skype) about how its been one of the highlights of my trip so far as it really showed me how interested God is in his precious girls.. and how right across the earth he is bringing it to the light. So as you read this i hope you know that God is VERY interested in every single aspect of your life, that he cares about the little things, and that as you choose to follow him and take risks for him here on Earth he will surprise you with showing you how BIG he is, and in control of your life he is. I am blown away that the Lord has opened doors for me to be here, and to next week go to India. It was 10 years ago that I felt God call me and speak to me about being in ministry and traveling around the world with and for Him.... its happening now - but it has taken time...

What ever season you are keep loving the Lord, hearing his voice, risking, and TRUSTING that he is faithful to lead you and make your paths straight.

Will write more when I get to India... be blessed today...

katie

Jesus gives LIFE

Hello girls... I just thought it was time for a wee update. This last week has been a challenging one! I found myself along with my flatmates at the scene of a fatal accident on sunday night. There has been alot of different thoughts going through my head, and feelings in my heart since this happened. I know that God is true to his word when he says that he works all things together for the good of those who Love him and are called according to his purpose. As we were driving before we saw the accident the verse that we had been discussing was "God is the one who gives life to to the dead and calls things that are not as though they are" Romans 4:17 , a minute later we are at the scene of a crash where someone had died. This was not what I was expecting.
Last night I was reminded about this verse. I was around alot of youth from our city- at a youth church. As I was sitting in the church the verse went through my head again... and I sensed from God that he was so desperately wanting to bring LIFE from the deaths that have occured. My heart was sooo breaking last night as I saw many young people weeping, mourning for there friend who lost her life in this tragedy. My heart was breaking because I know how desperately this generation needs life in there spirit. My prayer for this nation, this generation is that where we have seen death occur, that God by the power of His Holy Spirit would flood in with LIFE, and that many would turn to Jesus because of this.

Girls know that today God wants to come into the midst of your situation and breathe life, He is powerful, strong and mighty. All things are possible for Him. Today open you heart to Him, call on His name, He will do what his word says, and HE WILL ANSWER YOU.
If you want to write a response to this but are not signed up as a blogger.. feel free to email me on: katie_davies@hotmail.com

Keep loving the Lord, and trusting in HIM... and radiating Jesus to this world!

Katie d

Know the word ... fear the LORD

Hello precious girls... and guys - if you are reading this page,
Just wanted to write a bit of an encouraging word to you all today. I was enjoying some time with the Lord this morning - sitting on the balcony, with my bible, note book and coffee. I was reading in Deuteronomy and was drawn to a passage about Joshua and Moses. Chapter 31 Veres 9 - 13 are about the public reading of the Law. This stuck out to me because it was talking about Children and young people knowing the the law and learning how to fear the Lord. I think often we forget how powerful, and how important the word of God is. If we do not know the word of God, we will then be lacking in the fear of the Lord. Psalm 111:10 says "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise".

I want to encourage you today to make time to spend with God in HIS word. This is where you will gain wisdom, and this is where you will learn how to Fear the Lord - not be scared of him , but have a reverence and awe of God. The word of God is powerful, it is a weapon for us to use in defeating the enemy, it is a source of encouragement to our hearts, it gives us promises that we can hold on to in good and bad times.

Today may you experience the fear of the LORD... and in doing so you will gain wisdom and understanding.

Blessings,

katie

Pakuranga Teen Aglow

Pakuranga TEEN Aglow.
An awesome night.

Welcome to Aglow NZ Generations Blog

Hello all you amazing young Ladies from Aotearoa NZ.
Welcome to the Aglow NZ Generations Blog page. This Blog is created to keep you updated with the happenings of the Generations project through out NZ.

My name is Katie Davies and I have recently come on to the Aglow Board in NZ to be the Generations Project Co-ordinator. My role is to facilitate reaching out to the Young woman of NZ - to see them come to know Jesus, be encouraged in their walk with Him, and see them walking in their calling as precious daughters of King Jesus.

There are many exciting things that will be happening around NZ with the generations project. Please keep an eye on the blog page to know what will be happening near you.

This past week I have been in Wellington and Auckland. Pakuranga Teen Aglow held a meeting on Tuesday night. I had the priviledge of sharing at this meeting, and see God do some amazing things. 6 precious girls gave their lives to Jesus -wow - a party was happening in Heaven, and many girls received prayer, and encouragement. It was a very special night and I believe the beginning of some new things in NZ.

Well I will writing more soon, until then keep remembering how PRECIOUS you are, that you are loved and your life has MUCH value, MUCH worth - You are a woman of DESTINY, PURPOSE, STRENGTH, VISION... and there is a future and Hope for YOU.

Many blessings,

Katie Davies
